How often do you truly prioritise yourself? When do you work on your wellbeing? Or better yet, how often do you allow yourself to take ‘a retreat’? Well, it all starts with how you define a retreat in the first place.

To us, a retreat is a period of time away from the daily hustle to slow down and self-care, whilst enjoying both moments of solitude and connection with likeminded women. It’s an opportunity to practice Yoga & Pilates without any external distractions, embrace meditation and poolside relaxation to calm the mind, and mindfully indulge in the rich flavours of the local cuisine with good food and wine.

In short: It’s about prioritising yourself, and enjoying the finer things in life.

A retreat is more than just a getaway. It’s a pause, a moment in time where you step away from the everyday and truly indulge in self-care. It’s about finding that delicate balance between reflection and connection, moving your body with daily classes, and quieting your mind by being in nature.

The art of retreating yourself. Every single day.

The secret to retreating yourself every day

We believe retreating yourself is absolutely vital for your wellbeing. But let’s be real: not everyone can hop on a plane and escape to a gorgeous getaway 52 weeks of the year. Life (and budgets) just don’t allow for that.

But what if you could bring the essence of a retreat into your daily life? What if retreating wasn’t an event, but a practice? A mindset? A way of living?

Read that again.

There are simple, sustainable ways to weave self-care into your routine to allow you to prioritise your well-being without the need for a suitcase and a plane ticket. Because while we absolutely love retreating with you, we also want to help you create daily habits that make self-care feel effortless.

Think about it: the feeling you get when you step into a retreat space is a feeling of permission. Permission to slow down, to let go, to be taken care of. But why wait for a dedicated retreat to give yourself that permission?

What if every single day, you gave yourself small moments of retreat? A cup of coffee sipped slowly before checking your phone. A deep breath before stepping into a stressful meeting. A walk in nature without distractions. A delicious meal enjoyed without guilt. A few quiet moments at night to simply be (perhaps with a vino – no judgement!). These are little things you can do to bring the art of retreating into your daily life.

How often do you press pause?

Because essentially a retreat is a moment away from the daily grind. What if you create multiple moments per day where you just focus on you? We understand life can be challenging, and everyday self-care might not be on the cards for you. It could be 5 minutes every morning, noon and night. Try it, see what happens.

To help you get started, here are six simple, game-changing habits that we swear by.

6 Simple Self-care Habits That Make a Big Difference

1. LEARN TO SAY NO

You don’t have to say yes to every work project, social event, or favour that is asked of you. Protect your energy. Make space for what truly matters to you.

So often, we feel guilty about saying no. We worry about disappointing people, missing out, or not being seen as a team player. But every time you say yes to something that drains you, you are saying no to something that could nourish you. Setting boundaries is an act of self-care, and the more you practice, the easier it becomes.

2. LEARN TO SAY YES

Wait, what? Didn’t we just tell you to say no? Yes… but also, YES! Say yes to the things that bring you joy – a long bath, a spontaneous getaway, that pair of shoes you’ve been eyeing. Life is short. Enjoy it.

So many of us get caught up in the cycle of responsibility that we forget to say yes to the things that light us up. When was the last time you said yes to something just because it made you happy? Whether it’s a small indulgence or a big adventure, give yourself permission to embrace joy.

Say yes more often to something that brings you joy.

3. LESS MEDIA, MORE SOCIAL (OR SOLITUDE)

The news rarely lifts our spirits, and doom-scrolling? Even worse. Instead, spend quality time with loved ones or simply be alone and take some time to reflect. You don’t always have to be switched on. Put that phone down. Walk, read, paint, move, breathe, nap, cook. Give your mind a break.

Technology has made us more connected than ever, but also more disconnected from ourselves. Pay attention to how your screen time makes you feel. Do you feel energised and inspired after scrolling, or drained and anxious? If it’s the latter, start setting boundaries. Replace screen time with real moments of connection, whether with others or with yourself.

4. MOVE YOUR BODY

Motion is the lotion of life. Whether it’s a 10-minute desk stretch, a quick lunchtime yoga session, or 30 squats while you wait for your coffee to brew – try to exercise every day. Your future self will thank you.

Exercise doesn’t have to mean hour-long gym sessions or high-intensity workouts. The key is to find movement that feels good. Dance in your kitchen, stretch at your desk, take the stairs, walk to get your coffee. Moving your body isn’t just about fitness; it’s about feeling alive, and finding the type of movement that is sustainable for you.

Exercise is one of the most important aspects for everyday wellbeing

5. ME-TIME MATTERS

We get it – between kids, careers, and the chaos of 2025, carving out time for yourself isn’t always easy. But small moments count. Wake up a little earlier, ask for help, or steal a few quiet minutes wherever you can (even if it’s in the bathroom – we won’t judge!). You deserve to be a priority, too.

So many women put themselves last, taking care of everyone else before themselves. But you can’t pour from an empty cup. Prioritising yourself isn’t selfish; it’s necessary. Even five minutes of intentional me-time can make a difference in your mental and emotional wellbeing.

6. 80% NOURISHMENT, 20% INDULGENCE

We believe in balance, not deprivation. Fill most of your meals with nutrient-dense foods – fruits, veggies, lean proteins, whole grains. But also? Enjoy the indulgences. Savor the wine. Eat the pizza (without guilt, and preferably in Italy). Because life is meant to be enjoyed.

Diet culture has taught us that food is either good or bad, but we believe in joyful eating. When you focus on nourishing your body most of the time, you don’t have to stress about the indulgences. Food should be a source of pleasure, not punishment.

10 LITTLE JOYS THAT MAKE LIFE SWEETER

And finally, on those days where life is extra hard and you really can’t find the time for true self-care, think about the little moments that bring you joy – and plan for them to happen. Because sometimes, the simplest things bring the most happiness.

  1. A good sweat session (workout or sauna, you choose)
  2. Slow mornings with coffee and a good book
  3. A walk in nature (without your phone!)
  4. Girlfriend gatherings with wine and cheese
  5. An overdue call with a loved one
  6. Indulgent soaks in a tub (preferably with a view, bubbles, and a hot man… but we’re not picky!)
  7. Eating a pizza and not feeling guilty after (especially in Italy!)
  8. Feeling the sun on our skin (again, preferably in Italy!)
  9. Cosy cuddles with your pet
  10. A scalp massage (heaven!)

At the end of the day, it’s all about the little things. Those moments of self-care that you can weave into your life to experience the feeling of a (little) retreat every single day.

Because you deserve it.

So ask yourself: How are you retreating today?
