On this extended yoga safari, your students will enjoy everything included in the 7 Day Yoga Retreat, with the addition of dune boarding, quad biking, an ocean safari, spa day, visits to Sossusvlei/Deadvlei, and a Sesriem Canyon Excursion, along with the opportunity to add optional extras like skydiving, paragliding, hot air ballooning and scenic flights. You also get to enjoy staying at a few different places. First up is Etosha Village, featuring luxurious and spacious air-conditioned rooms with modern ensuite bathrooms, shower, fridge, coffee, tea and electronic safe. From there, you’re off to the luxury Desert Breeze bungalows of Swakopmund, the perfect escape to experience a space so tranquil and serene it will entice your senses and nourish your soul. Enjoy making the most of a private balcony to admire the breathtaking view of the Namib dunes. Finally, finish up at the Desert Quiver Camp in Soussusvlei, where wildlife roam nearby as you enjoy the swimming pool and the communal boma-areas.
Your retreat begins with a beautiful drive from the airport to Etosha Village. After the first sunset yoga class of the safari, you and your guests will enjoy a welcoming ceremony and a wholesome dinner under the African stars.
Every day starts and ends with yoga or meditation and more delicious healthy meals. You’ll alternate between downtime – relaxing in the pool, reading a book, wandering the nature trails – or being shown local fauna or flora by experienced guides, including visiting the Etosha National Park, a home to hundreds of species, including elephants, lions, cheetahs and wildebeest.
You’ll travel down to the picturesque coastal town of Swakopmund, where the desert meets the ocean, stopping on the way to visit the ancient indigenous Himba group. By the evening, you’ll once again be enjoying sunset yoga to spectacular views of the Namib dunes followed by a fabulous slice of German cuisine.
In Swakopmund you can choose between a variety of adventurous excursions, from quad biking, fat wheel biking, ocean safaris, dune boarding, horse riding, camel riding, kayaking or surfing, but leave time to explore this cute little German town too!
Next make your way to Sossusvlei, located in the iconic Namib-Naukluft National Park, then Deadvlei, it’s dark camel thorn trees contrasting stunningly against the white pan floor and deep blue sky, before finally exploring the Sesriem Canyon.
Along the way, treat your clients to an African massage, gaze up at the stars, and take in the unique sound of local musicians.
