WHAT YOUR FIJI RETREAT WILL LOOK LIKE

Take what you need from our below schedule. This week is designed for you to rest, relax and recover. There is no judgment if you prefer to have a sleep-in, instead of joining a morning yoga or Pilates class.

We have deliberately opted for a different kind of itinerary for this blissful yoga retreat in Fiji. Besides your yoga, Pilates and meditation sessions, and a complimentary 30 minutes relaxation massage, you get to fill the rest of your schedule with the things you love.

The venue has many free activities for you to enjoy, from snorkelling to stand-up paddle boards, to kayaking and reef golf. Lounge by the pool, shoot some pool or play volleyball or croquet, and swing in a hammock while reading books from your favourite author.

We encourage you to embrace island life by disconnecting from your to-do list and digital devices, and do the things you rarely get time for at home.

Arrival and Welcome day.

Pick-up from Suva-Nausori airport followed by a scenic boat transfer to Toberua Private Island Resort.

Upon arrival at the resort you will indulge in a traditional welcome cocktail after which you’ll have time to settle into your room, and explore the island.

Depending on the time of your flight arrival (hopefully in the morning) you will enjoy a yin class in the early evening followed by a 3-course dinner.

If you prefer to fly in a few days prior to the retreat, this can be requested in the booking form. Meals will be included for extended stays, but there will be no yoga or Pilates classes.

Toberua island is located in the Lomaiviti Group, east of Viti Levu, the largest of the Fijian islands. It’s best to fly into Suva-Nausori airport via Nadi, as your transfer to the island will be included from here.

From Nadi, it’s a short 30 minutes flight to Suva. Qantas and Fiji Airways provide flights from Melbourne and Sydney to Nadi and onwards to Suva.

Your hostess for this yoga & Pilates retreat in beautiful Fiji is Retreat Here founder Sabijn Linssen. Sab was born in the southern-most part of The Netherlands and has lived in several different countries such as France, the UK and – of course – Australia. She is easygoing and down to earth, which reflects in her yoga retreats as well as the type of guests she attracts.

Many of her previous retreat guests have stayed in touch over the years, and about 80% of them are repeat guests, which speaks volumes about how genuine the connections are. Sab takes pride in making everyone feel welcome and Retreat Here has now grown into a lovely community of likeminded women who love good food & wine, travelling and of course, yoga, Pilates & meditation.

TYPE OF YOGA & PILATES CLASSES

Sab’s yoga & Pilates sessions will always be catered towards all levels of fitness. We do recommend having done a few classes prior to your retreat in order to make your retreat experience better. Having said that, you definitely do not have to be a yoga-pro, nor do you need to be able to touch your toes! In addition, adjustments will be given to women who need it, and challenges provided to those who want them.

You can expect flowing mat Pilates classes followed by soothing stretches. In your Pilates classes you will work towards strengthening glutes, arms and core muscles (front and back!) – which will ultimately help you in your yoga practice.

Sab’s yoga classes are Vinyasa based and you can expect to flow through sequences that are creatively put together whilst you try to link your breath with each movement. This helps to get you ‘out of your head’ and ‘into your body’. Evening classes are more restorative such as yin yoga or yoga nidra.

CANCELLATION TERMS

  • Cancellations have to be confirmed in writing by emailing sab@retreathere.com.
  • Cancellations received between 0 and 89 days prior to the start date of your booked retreat: No refund or transfer.
  • Cancellations received prior to 90+ days from the start of your retreat, you will forfeit the deposit, and any instalments paid according to your payment schedule.

I have just come back from the June women's only "Retreat Here" Bali yoga retreat, in the stunning Uluwatu region. I highly recommend this experience to any woman who wants to take time out to really look after themselves, both physically and mentally.Sab is a fantastic yoga and pilates teacher - she is calm but funny, and very skilled at creating sessions that, with her support, fit any level of fitness/skill level.The venue was gorgeous, as well as being private - it was so beautiful doing yoga beside the pool, and the rooms were super comfortable. We were close walking distance to an abundance of shops and restaurants, and a short drive away from amazing local sites - Uluwatu temple with its Kecak fire dance performance, the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Statue, and the"Single Fin" surf bar to name a few.The food was delicious and varied, and the cocktails were divine.Sab always creates an environment that feels very safe, friendly and relaxed.  She made sure that everyone was happy and had exactly what they needed - if they didn't she would be on to it immediately.I think the retreats are exceptional value for money. If you are trying to decide whether or not to book a retreat with Sab, I would say do it! Your body and your mind will thank you.
I have attended a few of the Retreat Here events in Melbourne over the last few years. I cannot recommend Sab or the events more highly. They are always so much fun, a great group of people and always great yoga or pilates. It never matters what your level is, or if you have any limitations etc., Sab is always so accommodating with the yoga and pilates and you get a great experience. Retreat Here is my go to recommendation for yoga retreats. I have returned from an amazing time at the inaugural Bali retreat which was held in Uluwatu. Sab brought the most fabulous group of women together for the week which consisted of lots of conversations by the pool, daily yoga, pilates, massages, gorgeous food, cocktails and plenty of laughter.As usual, the classes were balanced and well paced for a range of levels. The accommodation was stunning and I returned feeling relaxed with some fantastic new relationships that have continued beyond the retreat.If you have any concerns as a solo traveller, there is absolutely nothing to worry about. Sab is welcoming, warm and always manages to create the perfect environment for everyone to thrive and get what they need from the retreat.

This would have to be one of those experiences that I would highly recommend. It was beautifully organised with an amazing yoga instructor Sab. The Venu in the Otways was simply pure bliss. We had yoga before dinner on the day you arrived. The next day we practice more yoga in the morning before breakfast and a simply relaxing session before dinner at night. The rest was your time to relax, unwind and simply do what you want to do. It's you retreat! The private Chef cooked up delicious Vegan flavoursome meals that were presented beautifully. This retreat is a excellent way to unwind, relax, detox, meet new people and take up a great practice, yoga. If you are a wanting to to try something new like yoga or love yoga I highly recommend Sab @retreathere. You will not be disappointed.

I have been on multiple retreats now through Retreat Here and will continue to do so as each retreat is fantastic - they are thoughtfully scheduled, with a great balance between unscheduled time, classes and group socialisation time. Thankyou Sab for hosting such a wonderfully relaxing weekend! The yoga was just what I needed, and it was great to try a variety of classes (yin, flow, nidra, and sound healing). There was no hectic schedule or pressure to do any activities you didnt want to, so was perfect for a bit of backyard sunning and reading. The food was AMAZING, I cant speak any higher of the wonderful chefs from @madame_feasts who provided delicious canapes, mains and desserts all paired with perfect wines. The venue at the Summer House was beautiful, and nice and close to the beautiful coastline for beach walks. I would come back again in a heartbeat!!

I went on this yoga retreat know one other lady plus of course Sab - I came away having forged some lovely friendships with 5 other ladies as well. The Summer House is absolutely perfect for this retreat location, the food cooked up on Saturday by our personal chefs was amazing and the laughs and of course wine and yoga was just what we all needed. A wonderful weekend with Sab and a fabulous group of ladies I had never met before! It doesn't get much better than a Retreat Here Yoga & Wine Retreat! The Summer House in Torquay was beautiful and the food was amazing! Apart from being an awesome yoga instructor, Sab ensured everyone got what they wanted from the weekend. Lots of laughs, time to relax (be it a nap, a walk or time to read a book), a couple of wines with dinner and of course, plenty of yoga. I had the most enjoyable time and I can't wait for the next retreat in March 2021!
Great yoga class, and well organised trip to the Bellarine Peninsula. The ferry ride across was a great way to go, and the wine tasting was good too, with a knowledgeable host.
I joined the yoga and champagne breakfast sessions and I think it was awesome. Sab is a great instructor, her class is catered for all levels. I love that she takes her time to check on her students and check our alignments. She is very friendly too! Great vibes from both the yoga class and the breakfast.

I recently joined Yoga and champagne breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it!! Sab is an excellent Yoga instructor and her class caters for different levels.I was a bit rusty as I hadn’t done yoga in a while, and felt great afterwards.Sab is friendly and welcoming (and easy to communicate with before the event), and so were the rest of the group! Retreat here events are such a great way to slow down and be in the moment after a busy week at work. I felt so relaxed and reenergised after the yoga session and loved meeting new people of a delicious meal.

If you're looking for a relaxing getaway that won't cost a fortune, look no further. I've been lucky enough to go on two yoga and wine retreats with retreat here. The first was in Nov 2018 at the Yarra Valley lodge and the second, which I won as a door prize, was for the galloping retreat at Balgownie Estate last weekend. Both retreats were well organised, the location, food, wine & yoga were all superb. It was so lovely to just relax, meet and spend time with like-minded people. Sab, Claire & Bethany you're all doing an amazing job and I wish you luck for all your future events. Looking forward to booking in another retreat some time soon! :)

WHICH AIRPORT DO I FLY INTO?

Suva-Nausori airport.

CAN I ARRIVE A FEW DAYS EARLIER?

Yes. You can request to add-on one (or more) extra night prior to your retreat. This will help you ‘settle in’ to island life without feeling rushed on your arrival day.

Twin share add-on cost is NZD 390 pp incl. daily meals.
Private add-on cost is NZD 590 pp. incl. daily meals

WHAT FOOD CAN I EXPECT AT THIS YOGA RETREAT IN FIJI?

Expect fine dining experiences with food that is fresh, locally sourced and sustainable.

Some examples are:

  • Smoked marlin and mushroom frittata
  • Red fish curry
  • Vegetable salad
  • Parmesan crumbed tofu with a tomato cucumber salad

IS YOUR FIJI YOGA RETREAT ALL-INCLUSIVE?

Not entirely. You can find a full list of inclusions in the listing above, but as a rough guide: All your meals, airport transfers, boat transfer to and from the island, daily yoga, meditation and Pilates, a welcome cocktail and a 30 mins relaxation massage are included.

Not included:

  • Flights to and from Fiji
  • Any transfers that take place outside of your arrival and departure day
  • Travel Insurance
  • Any accommodation prior to or after your retreat
  • Alcoholic beverages that are not part of the itinerary
  • Barista made coffees
  • Bottled water (water on the island is safe to drink)

IS IT SAFE TO DRINK TAP WATER?

Yes. Toberua Island Resort purifies their water through a reverse osmosis desalination plant. It is then filtered via a state of the art ultraviolet filtration plant, making it safe to drink. If you prefer, bottled water is available for purchase.

WILL WE HAVE THE WHOLE ISLAND TO OURSELVES?

Maybe. But most likely not. As you might know, we like to keep our yoga retreat experiences small and intimate. To hire out the whole island, we need a min. of 35 women.

We will stick with our signature concept of inviting between 8 and 14 guests in order to give you the personalised service that you deserve.

Toberua Private Island Resort offers 16 bures (traditional Fijian Bungalows), and we’ll book at least 6 of these, meaning that we might be sharing the island with a few other guests.

Rest assured that we have our own private yoga space, and with four acres of greenery and sandy beaches, Toberua guarantees enough space and privacy to have the most relaxing yoga retreat in Fiji.

DO I NEED TO BOOK TOURS AND EXTRAS IN ADVANCE?

No. Tours and extras (such as more massages) can be booked upon arrival. Also note that activities and massages, tours and trips can change at short notice. Retreat Here has no control over this.

ARE TRANSFERS INCLUDED IN THIS FIJI RETREAT?

Yes, but only if you fly into Suva-Nausori airport. You will be greeted at the airport by Toberua Island Resort staff, and they’ll take you to Nakelo Landing by private vehicle, followed by a 30 minutes scenic boat ride to the resort. You will have to advise us of your flight details at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the retreat.

DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?

100% yes. Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory to join our international retreats.

WHAT WEATHER CAN I EXPECT IN FIJI?

Although we can never predict the weather – June is one of the best months to visit Fiji.

Winter in Fiji falls between April and October, with an average daytime temperature of 27C and water temperature of approx. 24C.

CAN I JOIN YOUR FIJI RETREAT WITH A FRIEND AND SHARE A ROOM?

Of course. We offer twin share rooms and you can write each other’s name in the booking form so we know who to pair you up with.

LASTLY, DO YOU WELCOME SOLO TRAVELLERS AT YOUR YOGA RETREAT IN FIJI?

Absolutely. We love welcoming women who travel alone and who retreat alone. You can either choose a private room or we can pair you with another female solo traveller.
